Registered Student Organizations Council

The Registered Student Organizations Council (RSOC) is the governing agency that oversees the registration, promotion, development, and distribution of funds for Student Organizations at Florida International University. All registered student organizations are open to all current FIU students.

RSO Council embodies Academic, Arts, Business, Cultural/Social, Engineering, Graduate, Health/Wellness, Honor Societies, Law, Political, Religious/Spiritual, and Service student organizations.

Student organizations are encouraged to register their organization under RSOC. Registering your organization allows you to be a recognized organization at FIU.

There are three opportunities to register:

Priority Registration

April 1 -30

Regular Registration

August 17 – September 4

Spring New Organization Registration

January 4-15


Registration is completed via Panther Connect.

Requirements for registration:

  1. Have a president and RSO Representative with at least a 2.5 GPA and enrolled in at least 9 credits undergraduate, 6 credits graduate, and 3 credits PhD.
  2. Have at least 10 members interested in joining the organization (including E-Board)
  3. Secure an advisor.
    1. Must be a full-time faculty or staff member.

Documents for registration include the following:

  1. Logo (temporary logo can be used)
  2. Constitution*
  3. Advisor Storage Letter*
  4. National Recognition Letter*
    1. Only required if your organization is affiliated with a national organization.
  5. NEW REQUIREMENT: Hazing Prevention Certificate of Completion for all Executive
    Board members & Advisor.
    • Certificate can be obtained through the "Hazing Prevention 101: It's Everyone's
    Responsibility (2025-2026)” through the FIU Develop website.

2026-2027 Dates to Know: 

  • Fall Advisor Training: September 18th at 10am via Zoom
  • BBC Organization Fair: September 15th at 12pm
  • MMC Organization Fair: September 16th at 11am
  • Mandatory Point Form Submission: December 4th at 11:59pm
  • Spring Advisor Training: January 22nd at 10am via Zoom
  • MMC Organization Fair: January 26th at 11am
  • BBC Organization Fair: January 28th at 12pm
  • Special Allocations Request Deadline: March 26th at 11:59pm
  • Purchase Request Deadline: April 16th at 11:59pm
