Campus Recreation would like to welcome you to Family Weekend! While you are on campus, please visit FIU’s state-of-the-art Wellness and Recreation Center (WRC). The Wellness and Recreation Center has everything you and your student need to pursue and live a fit and healthy lifestyle, including cardio and selectorized equipment, free weights, fitness classes, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and racquetball/squash courts. Parents and family members (18 years of age or older) can visit the Wellness and Recreation Center as a guest at the Modesto Maidique Campus and/or Biscayne Bay Campus.
Visits are valid on Friday, September 25, through Sunday, September 27. Utilization of the facility will be
free of charge to currently enrolled students (with their One Card) and their family members. Family members must present a valid
state driver's license or identification at the point of entry and communicate that you are participating in Family Weekend.
You must show your Family Weekend Participant Lanyard on your visit to check in. You will be asked to sign a waiver to utilize the facility and participate in programming. Minors are not permitted to work out in the facility, however, they may tour the facility with a family member. If you are interested in participating in a fitness class, please visit us at

Family Weekend Kickoff @ the FIU Men's Soccer Game*
- Location: Leyva Family Field at FIU Soccer Stadium
- Kick off Family Weekend with an exciting evening at the FIU Men's Soccer Game vs. the University of Memphis Tigers! Doors open at 6:00 PM, with kickoff at 7:00 PM. Join fellow Panthers for light snacks, refreshments, and an evening of soccer as we celebrate the start of Family Weekend. One soccer game ticket is included with each Family Weekend package.
- Currently enrolled FIU students receive free admission with their FIU One Card.
- Guests who do not have a Family Weekend package must purchase an individual gameday ticket to attend the Kickoff event and the soccer game. To purchase individual gameday tickets, please visit go.fiu.edu/FamilyWeekendSoccer

FIU Family Weekend Tailgate hosted by Orientation and Family Programs*

- Location: Cuban Memorial (Outside of Pitbull Stadium)
- As part of our Family Weekend festivities, we are excited to invite you to our main event: the FIU Family Weekend Tailgate! This special gathering offers a wonderful opportunity for parents and family members to connect with the FIU community, mingle with fellow families, and show your Panther Pride. Enjoy light snacks and refreshments as we celebrate together before the football game. To gain entry to this event, please purchase a Family Weekend Package below.

FIU 2nd Annual Pig Roast
- Location: Cuban Memorial (Outside of Pitbull Stadium)
- Join us for the 2nd Annual FIU Pig Roast Series on Saturday, September 26, 2026, as part of Family Weekend festivities and FIU’s football game day experience! This annual tradition brings together students, families, alumni, faculty, staff, and Panther supporters for a day filled with food, fun, and Panther pride.
- Enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere featuring a Kids Fun Zone, activities, games, inflatables, and more while celebrating FIU tradition and supporting FIU Athletics.
- Family Weekend package holders will have the option to purchase a discounted add-on ticket to attend the Pig Roast event during Family Weekend registration on Eventbrite. Please note that this ticket includes event admission only and does not include participation in the competition.
- Additional details will be available soon through the Family Weekend Package Eventbrite page for admission-only tickets. If you are interested in competing in the annual Pig Roast event, registration details will be shared in the coming weeks. Please note that the name listed on the “Pig Roast Ticket Add-On Order” must match the name listed on the “Family Weekend Package Order.”
FIU Football vs. Long Island University

- Join Roary & FIU Athletics for Family Weekend on Saturday, September 26, as your FIU Panthers take on the the Long Island University Sharks. As a valued member of the FIU family, we thank you for all that you have done to support the university. General admission seats will be set at a discounted price for FIU parents and family members participating in Family Weekend.
